The Conference presentations touch upon various topics such as Soviet communism and its legacy, the nature of the Putin regime, security and diplomacy, political conflict and regime stability in post-Soviet authoritarian countries etc.. Conference organizers are established centers of excellence: The Institute for Russian and Eurasian Studies (IRES) at Uppsala University and the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES).
